Your inner blockages sabotage your reality.

Updated: Sep 26

You know what you want, but you can’t seem to put it into motion.

As if you always end up back at the same point.

It’s your nervous system reacting by reflex, to protect you.

Since childhood and through past experiences, it has recorded traces: fears, wounds, automatic responses you never consciously chose.

The nervous system is like the body’s control panel. It lives in your body (brain, spinal cord, nerves) and it directs all your automatic reactions: your heart beating faster, your stomach tightening, your throat closing, etc.

Your mind reflects afterwards, but your nervous system has already pressed the button.

That’s why we say the body “remembers”: it doesn’t think, it reacts to keep you safe.

Science confirms this: the autonomic nervous system (ANS), the one that ensures your survival, reacts in a fraction of a second long before conscious thought.

The result:

  • you freeze (you avoid, you don’t dare, you disappear)

  • you become hypervigilant (always on alert, controlling and anticipating)

  • or you fight / flee (you procrastinate, push away, sabotage)

These reactions are not “you” they are echoes of old protection mechanisms.

Even if your life has changed, your body keeps acting as if it hasn’t.

The body’s memory speaks louder than the mind

As psychiatrist Bessel van der Kolk explains in his book “The Body Keeps the Score”:

“The body keeps the score of what the mind has learned to repress.”

You can understand and analyze everything, but as long as your body doesn’t feel “safe,” it will stay on alert. This is what creates a conflict between the head and the body: your mind wants to move forward, but your nervous system is still holding back.

When an emotion hasn’t been fully experienced, it leaves an imprint in the body: limiting beliefs take root, repetitive reactions return, chronic fatigue, tensions, blockages, and more.

Regulation doesn’t happen through thinking.

It happens through feeling, releasing, moving.

Only when your body recognizes safety can it finally deactivate those old patterns.
